will manage the quarterly and year-end state income tax provision process; assist in the review of state income/franchise tax returns and supporting apportionment data and conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis related to state income tax filing positions.

State tax provision (quarterly and year end)
State effective tax rates
State tax reserve analysis/FIN 48
Return to accrual reconciliations
State tax account reconciliations
Cash forecasting
Quantitative and qualitative analysis of return filing positions
Nexus determinations
Tax return review/quality control
Apportionment data collect package review
Government accounting state income/franchise tax allocation calculations
Undergraduate or advanced degree in finance or related major. An advanced tax degree would be a plus
4 to 7 years of state and federal compliance and FAS109 experience in a large, multi-national, corporate tax or accounting firm environment, including some level of supervisory responsibility
Experience with CorpTax, Hyperion and Longview software would be a plus
Understand major steps in compliance process, from data sourcing through filing and tax account activity
Ability to identify and implement continuous process improvements
Understanding of the impact of income taxes on the financial statements, and identify opportunities to combine tax and accounting knowledge to improve business results
Good interpersonal skills, including ability and desire to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with others throughout Tax and Finance organizations, at UTCHQ and Business Units
Self motivated, able to work independently and under pressure, while juggling multiple tasks at once
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good business sense and creative problem solving skills
Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into meaningful analysis
Active participant in career development and succession planning processes
