Metal Form Set-up Operator (Fourslide)

We partnered with a leading precision manufacturer with a rich legacy spanning 80 years. As a key strategic supplier, they specialize in producing metal springs, stampings, machined components, and assemblies for various industries such as; medical devices, defense and firearms, aerospace and government sectors. Primary Position Objectives:
We are seeking a Set-up Operator to help develop and implement documentation, procedures, systems, programs, and tools to continuously improve the quality, cost, and lead-time of goods and services provided to the company's customers. Position
Responsibilities:
Set-Up:
Set-up and maintain production tooling, ensuring first piece quality submission. Set-up, adjust, and operate Fourslide machines (NIELSON V81, V82, etc. experience required). Make minor repairs and adjustments to machine tools and equipment as necessary to support production demands. Assist in standardizing machine component inventory, including cams, tool holders, and cut-off components. Assist in the development of project/tool estimates (quotes). Assist department tool and die makers with troubleshooting and analysis. Participate in Lean, 5S, and SDWT projects. Alert supervisor regarding updates and corrections needed on job travelers for operation changes/additions. Lean Initiatives:
Observe company processes and make recommendations for improvement. Participate in Lean Projects to enhance efficiency and eliminate waste. Other:
Adhere to company policies, environmental, and safety standards, as well as good housekeeping practices. Provide assistance or instruction to other personnel as required. Perform other duties as directed. Attendance is an essential function of the job.
Qualifications:
Education/
Experience:
High school diploma, Trade School graduate, or demonstrated equivalent skills. Minimum of 5 years' experience in set-up, troubleshooting, and production operation of Multi-Slide/Fourslide/Verti-Slide machines. Ability to read and understand blueprints as needed for production manufacturing. Working knowledge and practical experience with statistical process control in a production environment. Understanding of manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, lean manufacturing, and its components (e.g., Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, etc.). Familiarity with principles of concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing and assembly. Experience with production standards, cost of quality, and manufacturing methods. Detail-oriented and task-driven work ethic. Ability to work overtime as required to meet company needs.
