The Disability Examiner is responsible for all aspects of claim adjudication, including but not limited to contract evaluation, medical records evaluation, financial evaluation, eligibility determination, benefits calculation and offset management. The position supports claim management and customer service for a wide variety of Group, Association and worksite customers and their members/employees.
Reviews new claim submissions, assesses and gathers data necessary for each claim according to policy provisions
Develops and executes ongoing claim file management plans
Telephonic contact to gather details and provide superior customer service
Assessment of payroll, wages and tax statements
Answers questions from the field with regard to policy and claim inquiry.
Maintains file documentation electronically
Maintains workload within department standards
Optimal claim management, coordinated through clinical, vocational and other internal resources or external vendors as supported by contract
Supports Accident & Health, Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability claim units to achieve department goals and standards
Promotes teamwork with internal and external partners.
Promotes excellent customer service with sales, brokers, employers and associations.
PLEASE NOTE: The Neptune, NJ office location and work from home arrangements may be considered. Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience required.
Claims related experience required; prior insurance experience in a health/disability claim environment preferred
Current Casualty Adjuster License for CT and reciprocal states preferred
Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. American International Group, Inc. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
